This topic consistently gathers a lot of interest. There are a few short articles online, but nothing very in-depth. Even less available from research sources.
Much of the interest seems to come from a negative angle–people who are frustrated with working for a less-then-competent boss. We’ve all been there!
Research topic of ‘followership’ has some affinity/relevance, but that does not specifically address the negatives, and the focus on the boss is minimal
Other relevant areas to explore: Avoidance of triggering defensive behaviors; mentoring relationships.
